The Lamb Center is a daytime drop-in shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness in Fairfax, Virginia. They provide a variety of services without cost to our guests, including breakfast, lunch, showers, laundry service, Bible studies, case management, AA meetings, a nurse practitioner clinic, a dental clinic, and much more. They partner with local groups and organizations that have a passion for serving those experiencing homelessness.
“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (Ja. 5:16)
A Lamb Center Prayer:
God of Comfort,
We thank you for the warmer weather as the snow melts. We pray that you will keep our most vulnerable neighbors safe and warm this winter. We are grateful for the Hypothermia Prevention Program and the churches that open their doors throughout the winter to keep our neighbors safe, especially for the two churches who sheltered our guests for two additional days when it snowed to keep them safe. We lift up our most vulnerable neighbors who are fearful of losing the safety net they have with change in the immigration system and the possibility of losing Medicaid along with other support. We trust you are in charge, and you will guide us to protect them.
We look forward to the warmer weather of spring when construction on Beacon Landing will begin. We trust it is your desire that our most vulnerable neighbors have a safe and warm place to lay their heads. We trust it is your desire they find comfort on the journey they are on.
In Christ’s Name We Pray,
Amen
Did You Know? According to The Lamb Center, approximately 60% of the people that they serve have an untreated mental illness or addiction. Until these underlying causes are addressed, these people can never escape poverty. Pray for Christ to work in their life and give them the power to overcome these root causes of homelessness. Pray also for God’s people to reach out and help them through this difficult journey of recovery.

Provide Meals Without Cooking!
Are you interested in providing lunch for our Lamb Center guests, but not interested in cooking? There is an opportunity for providing lunch in the form of gift cards. On days the regular lunch partners are unable to provide lunch TLC gets creative (and economical) by buying Costco pizza!
But did you know it cost about $200 to order 20 pizzas to feed our guests for one lunch service?!
We welcome donations of physical gift cards or electronic gift cards, which can be emailed to volunteer@thelambcenter.org.
The Lamb Center Workforce Development program is in need of volunteers who can be on call to drive our vanin order to transport our crews to their worksites when we are short staffed. Contact the Lamb Center directly if that is something you can help with.
